Latin American municipalities face scrutiny over transparency and resource use

Various municipal administrations across Latin America are facing scrutiny regarding transparency and the use of public resources. In Motul, residents have questioned Mayor Lucio Alberto Estrella Canul regarding his significant real estate holdings. Meanwhile, in Chihuahua, Mayor Cruz Pérez Cuéllar has accused Governor Maru Campos of political opportunism regarding the cause of missing persons.

Other regional issues include a resolution in Córdoba, Argentina, where the Unión Cívica Radical is demanding an end to unidentified, aggressive transport control operations. In Ecuador, councilors are reporting inconsistencies in public utility companies and seeking to document their oversight efforts before their terms end.
