Local officials in Querétaro and Chiclana sanction illegal waste dumping

The municipality of Querétaro, Mexico, identified a resident who abandoned waste on public streets in the Lomas de Casa Blanca neighborhood and announced a sanction under local regulations. Officials noted that about five tonnes of miscellaneous waste (tiliches) are collected daily in Lomas de Casa Blanca and over 300 tonnes city‑wide, with free collection services available via a dedicated hotline.

In Chiclana, Spain, Mayor José María Román publicly condemned citizens who leave rubbish outside containers despite the presence of three clean‑point sites and numerous waste bins. A video circulated showing an individual dropping pruning debris on the ground; the person was subsequently fined. Román urged greater civility to keep the town clean.
