Local officials in Tlanalapa and San Miguel report administrative irregularities

In Tlanalapa, Hidalgo, municipal council members have questioned Mayor Abril Martínez Portillo after she failed to attend two scheduled ordinary sessions in person. Although a municipal official cited health reasons and attempted to conduct the meetings via video call, council members opposed the move. They argued that under the Organic Municipal Law for the State of Hidalgo, remote participation is only permitted during sanitary contingencies. The council members expressed concerns regarding a lack of political sensitivity and responsibility in managing municipal affairs.

In the San Miguel district, councilman Jimmy Tiña Calla has denounced alleged irregularities within the municipal government. Tiña Calla accused the mayor of suspending council sessions without reasonable justification, an issue that required police intervention to document. The councilman is calling for investigations into alleged irregular payments made to consultants and is seeking progress on a long-standing bridge project. Additionally, he reported that a motion regarding the General Secretariat was filed away rather than addressed.
