Local police report various crimes and arrests in Germantown and Montgomery County

Local law enforcement agencies have released summaries of recent criminal activity and police responses.

In Germantown, police responded to 473 calls for service between August 3 and August 9. Activity included 31 arrests, 45 citations, and 47 incident reports. Notable incidents involved drug-related offenses during traffic interdictions, a driver taken into custody on a warrant facing charges including felony possession of marijuana and carrying a concealed weapon, and an arrest for operating a vehicle while intoxicated following a fight at an American Legion Post.

In Montgomery County, police reported a variety of incidents from August 7 through August 9. The reports include multiple auto thefts, residential burglaries, and aggravated assaults across several districts. Specific incidents involved vehicle thefts in Rockville and Silver Spring, an attempted residential burglary in Bethesda, and a suspect brandishing a knife during a theft in the 3rd District.
