Local political developments in Vargem Grande and Barrocas
In Vargem Grande, State Deputy Barros Munhoz met with Mayor Celso Ribeiro to celebrate his reelection and express gratitude for the support received during the recent elections. Munhoz, entering his eighth term, pledged to continue assisting the municipality.
Additionally, Councilor Gustavo Bueno (PL) has proposed increasing the percentage of mandatory amendments (emendas impositivas) from 1.2% to 1.5% of the Net Current Revenue. If approved, this change could raise the individual allocation for councilors from R$ 194,000 to R$ 242,500, though such a change to the Organic Law might not take effect until the 2028 budget.
In Barrocas, City Council President Evandro Mota discussed his political shift toward Mayor Almir Maciel's group. Mota reported improved receptivity among voters in Santa Rosa and stated that his recent political alignment has provided greater ease in campaigning and stronger community support compared to his previous political affiliations.
