Local political disputes arise in Bracigliano and Messina
In Bracigliano, opposition leader Antonio Rescigno has criticized the Mayor regarding the expansion of local public transport. Rescigno claims the credit for new transport lines, which serve 158 municipalities in the Salerno province, belongs to the Campania Region rather than the local administration. He noted that the service resulted from a tender awarded in May 2024 to Busitalia Campania and Sita Sud, accusing the Mayor of attempting to claim political credit ahead of elections.
In Messina, Lega group leader and city councilor Cosimo Oteri is seeking formal answers from the municipal administration regarding several local issues. Oteri raised concerns about the potential return of heavy vehicles related to railway doubling projects, plastic storage at the former Decon site, and the situation in the viale degli Agrumi area. He intends to file a formal inquiry to ensure transparency regarding safety, environmental impacts, and authorizations in the Contesse, UNRRA, and CEP villages.
