Local political disputes arise in Induno Olona and Verbania

In Induno Olona, the Movimento Alternativo has requested transparency regarding the development of Lot 2A of the ‘I Laghi in Bicicletta’ pedestrian and cycle path. The group highlighted several technical concerns, noting that the AIPO (Agenzia Interregionale per il fiume Po) issued an unfavorable opinion due to high flood risks in the area. Additionally, ANAS reported issues regarding retaining walls along State Road 233, and the Campo dei Fiori Regional Park stated the project does not comply with its territorial coordination plan.

Despite these negative assessments, the Comunità Montana del Piambello has commissioned GRAIA S. r. l. to conduct further geological and forestry studies at a cost of approximately 31,603 euros. The group is calling for clarity on the project's costs and the validity of the current technical opinions.

In Verbania, the political group Una Verbania a Sinistra has expressed opposition to the decision to name the Intra waterfront after Sergio Ramelli. The group argues that while Ramelli was a victim of political violence in the 1970s, the chosen location holds deep historical significance related to the Resistance and the 42 partisan martyrs. They suggest the naming decision should respect the specific historical memory of the site.
