Local political groups denounce deterioration of public recreational spaces in Spain

Local political groups in Spain are denouncing the deterioration of public recreational spaces in Arona and Cádiz.

In Arona, the PSOE has called for immediate action to address the decline of playgrounds in Playa de Las Américas. Officials report that several areas remain fenced off, playground equipment has been removed without replacement, and safety flooring is damaged. Concerns were also raised regarding the lack of shade in high-temperature areas and the unregulated parking of electric scooters near playgrounds.

In Cádiz, the Adelante Izquierda Gaditana group has reported the abandonment of the Santa Bárbara promenade skatepark. The group claims the facility has suffered from a lack of basic maintenance and cleaning for approximately two and a half years. Specific issues cited include broken equipment and a lack of lighting following the fall of streetlamps, which affects the safety of youths using the space after sunset.
