Local political leadership changes in San Miguel and San Juan de la Rambla

In San Miguel, outgoing mayor Cristín Nicolás Mamani Mamani is concluding his term amid criticism regarding unfulfilled infrastructure promises. Former municipal administrator Johnny Mamani Ponce has called for the incoming administration to review previous municipal actions, specifically citing the failure to deliver major projects such as a bridge intended to improve district access. Mamani Ponce noted that interventions were largely limited to minor works, leaving structural needs in basic services, roads, and health and education infrastructure unaddressed.

In San Juan de la Rambla, Jesús Ezequiel Domínguez is set to return to the mayoralty following a motion of censure against the current mayor, Juan Ramos. Domínguez, representing the Socialist group, presented the motion alongside representatives from AUP-Sí se puede and Nueva Canarias. The move follows a period of political complexity and a perceived deterioration of public services and project stagnation. An extraordinary plenary session is scheduled for November 4 to formalize the transition.
