Local political motions in Calella and Girona plenary agenda

In Calella, the municipal group Calella en Comú Podem is set to present two motions during the upcoming plenary session. The first motion calls for the activation and bidding of six seasonal beach kiosks (guinguetes) included in the maritime-terrestrial public domain concession. Spokesperson Sebastián Tejada stated the group seeks to protect the City Council's economic interests and ensure transparency, noting that the failure to exploit these concessions could result in significant patrimonial losses, including a missed canon of approximately 200,000 euros.

The second motion concerns the 2026 waste management tax. The group is requesting a review and potential refund of excess taxes collected due to delays in implementing a new selective collection service, which Tejada claims resulted in citizens and businesses overpaying for nine months.

Separately, the Diputació de Girona will hold its September plenary session to discuss various economic and social matters. Key agenda items include the approval of extraordinary credit files and budget supplements for 2026, as well as modifications to the corporation's staff relations. The session will also address the regulatory bases for the ‘Girona Excel·lent’ agri-food quality seal for 2027-2028, environmental management in the Ripollès region, and subsidies for projects in the Montseny Natural Park.
