Local political movements organize for 2027 elections in Argentina

Political movements in the provinces of San Luis and Buenos Aires are beginning to organize for the 2027 municipal elections.

In Villa de Merlo, opposition groups including Peronists, socialists, and Kirchnerists are exploring the creation of a unified local front. The goal is to consolidate a single candidate to challenge the current Radical administration. This movement has gained momentum following local social unrest regarding territorial planning and the water cooperative.

In Mercedes, former councilman Carlos Mosso has signaled a closer relationship with the Vecinos por Mercedes group. Mosso, who previously served under the Cambiemos coalition, stated he has been collaborating with the neighborhood-focused movement and supports them as long as they remain independent from the local administration and La Libertad Avanza.
