Local political shifts occur in Matera and Samarate

In Matera, the renewal of Maria Rita Iaculli’s term as Chief of Staff has sparked administrative debate. While Mayor Antonio Nicoletti issued a decree to extend her mandate until the end of the current administration, ten opposition councilors have called for a review of the decision, citing concerns regarding procedures and municipal regulations.

In Samarate, Councilor Alessandra Cariglino has resigned from the municipal board. While citing personal and professional reasons for her inability to commit sufficient time, Cariglino also noted deep political disagreements with Mayor Ferrazzi. She highlighted diverging visions on administrative priorities and criticized the depletion of the technical office, which she stated has hindered the achievement of municipal goals.
