Local political transitions occur in Stade and Cloppenburg districts
In the Stade district, the Kreistag has unanimously re-elected Thorsten Heinze as the First District Councilor for another eight-year term. Following a proposal by District Administrator Kai Seefried, the council opted to waive a public tender process to retain the incumbent. Heinze, a 61-year-old jurist, serves as the permanent deputy to the District Administrator and leads Department I, which manages cross-sectional administrative tasks.
In the Cloppenburg district, Landrat Johann Wimberg held a ceremony to honor 26 departing council members. These representatives are leaving the Kreistag after choosing not to run for re-election or failing to be re-elected. Among those departing are several long-serving members, including Johannes Kalvelage, who served the council for 25 years and previously held the position of deputy district administrator.
