Local business changes and community events reported in Chiba and Saitama

Various local business updates and community events are occurring across the Chiba and Saitama regions.

In Funabashi, a new women-only fermentation bath specialty shop, nifu, is scheduled to open in October at the former site of the wine bar NINONI. The facility uses natural fermentation heat from a proprietary hinoki powder mixture to provide wellness services. Additionally, the popular mazesoba restaurant Mazero has closed, though a successor establishment has been announced.

In Ichikawa, the yakitori and creative cuisine restaurant Toriton has closed its doors after 23 years of operation near Ichikawa Station. In Okayama, the solo-customer cafe Monade Kissa is set to close at the end of September after nine years in the Omotecho shopping district.

The Misato Fireworks Festival 2026 is scheduled for October 3 at Edogawa Sports Park. The event will run from 18:00 to 18:45. Organizers have noted that preparations may be affected by Typhoon No. 26, which has caused flooding at the venue site. The festival will proceed in light rain but will be canceled if precipitation exceeds 2mm per hour.
