Local running events open for registration in Brazil

Two regional sporting events in Brazil have opened registration for upcoming editions.

In Barbacena, the Corrida do Coração 2026 is scheduled for December 13. Promoted by Hospital Ibiapaba CEBAMS and organized by Speed Race, the 5.5 km race aims to promote cardiovascular health and physical activity. The 2026 event will also serve as the opening celebration for the 60th anniversary of Hospital Ibiapaba CEBAMS. Participants can register via the Corridão website, with discounts available for athletes over 60 and people with disabilities.

In Icoaraci, the 4th edition of the Corrida e Caminhada do Círio de Icoaraci will take place on November 8. The event features a 7 km run and a 3.5 km walk, starting from the Igreja Matriz de São João Batista. Organizers expect approximately 1,200 participants. Additionally, a children's race is scheduled for November 15 to encourage sports among younger residents. Registrations are available through the Chip Belém website or in person at the local parish.
