Albacete and Cuenca drug ring dismantled by Spanish police
A joint operation by the Spanish National Police and the Civil Guard, known as ‘Operation Sunday’, has dismantled a highly structured criminal organization dedicated to cocaine distribution in the provinces of Albacete and Cuenca.
The investigation, which began in November, revealed a hierarchical group with clearly defined roles. Members operated across Albacete and various municipalities in Cuenca, including La Roda, Casas de Juan Núñez, Mahora, Quintanar del Rey, and Villanueva de la Jara.
Authorities seized approximately five kilograms of cocaine, which officials stated could have provided “tens of thousands of doses” for consumption during the Albacete Fair. Additional seizures included small amounts of hashish and marijuana, along with approximately 15,000 euros in cash. Twelve men, aged between 35 and nearly 70, were arrested, with five placed in preventive prison as the investigation continues.
