Local sporting and humanitarian events held in Croatia

In Croatia, various local sporting and humanitarian events took place recently. Members of the AK Slavonija Požega athletics club participated in the NovskaRUN race, competing in 3 km and 9 km segments. Verica Žakula secured first place in the 3 km race, while Mihaela Marić took third place in the 9 km race. The club is currently preparing for the first Požega Week, a 7 km road race scheduled for September 6, 2026.

On the island of Rab, the 16th humanitarian swimming marathon, known as the Krešin marathon, was held between Vodenče and Dolina. Organized by the City of Rab and the Komin Association, the event aimed to raise awareness for people with disabilities. This year's edition included a humanitarian component where proceeds from t-shirt sales were donated to assist with the aftermath of fires in Omiš.
