Vigo hosts solidarity race for multiple sclerosis awareness

The Asociación Viguesa de Esclerosis Múltiple de Pontevedra (AVEMPO) organized the 14th Eu Móvome pela Esclerose Múltiple solidarity race in the Bouzas neighborhood of Vigo. The event drew 1,370 participants for various activities, including 5K and 10K timed races and a walking route.

Mayor Abel Caballero signaled the start of the races. In the 10K category, Anxo Otero Amoedo and Olalla Saborido Gil took first place in the men’s and women’s divisions, respectively. In the 5K category, Roque González Batán and Noemí Álvarez Rodríguez were the winners.

The event aimed to raise awareness and support for multiple sclerosis, a chronic autoimmune disease affecting over 58,000 people in Spain, including approximately 4,500 in Galicia. The ceremony included the distribution of medals by Xunta territorial delegate Ana Ortiz and various corporate sponsors.
