Local sporting events promote social values in Rieti and Ancona

In Rieti, the “Carlo Millesimi” section of the Unione Nazionale Veterani dello Sport will present the “Lampada Tradens” project at the Pala Cordoni. This national itinerant initiative aims to foster dialogue between generations by using sport as an educational tool. The ceremony, held during a regional women's basketball game, features a torch relay with athletes from equestrianism, wheelchair basketball, swimming, and the Special Olympics to symbolize the transfer of values such as respect, loyalty, and fair play from veterans to younger generations.

In Ancona, the seventh edition of “La Dieci di Ancona – 6° Memorial Lorenzo Farinelli” took place, a running event included in the national FIDAL calendar. The manifestation combines competitive athletics with social goals, including inclusion and legality. Organized in collaboration with the Municipality of Ancona, the Guardia di Finanza, and various partners, the event emphasizes the role of sport in teaching teamwork and adherence to rules, while promoting participation for people with disabilities.
