Local sports clubs in Argentina celebrate major anniversaries
Two community sports clubs in Argentina are marking significant milestones. In La Plata, Club Sudamérica has launched a call for members, families, and neighbors to contribute memories, objects, and anecdotes to celebrate its 110th anniversary. In partnership with the Confines Gráficos collective, the club is collecting digital materials such as historical photographs and videos, as well as physical items like vintage jerseys and trophies, to create a collective artistic project scheduled for November 1.
In Maipú, Club Deportivo Luzuriaga celebrated its centenary. Founded in October 1926, the club has evolved from a worker-led initiative into a vital social and sporting hub for the district. Local officials, including the President of the Maipú Deliberative Council, Emiliano Salllei, attended the festivities, highlighting the club's role in community cohesion, human development, and providing support for local youth.
