Local sports initiatives launch in Hanau and Amberg
Various German municipalities are launching free community sports initiatives to encourage physical activity among residents.
In Hanau, the “Ballspieltag für Alle” event at the Willi-Rehbein-Halle offers diverse activities for all ages, including climbing walls, VR motion games, and ball games. Organized with HSG Preagberg, the event aims to bring people together regardless of background or experience. Participation is free, with complimentary food provided for children and youth.
In Amberg, the “Sport vor Ort” program has commenced, featuring free weekly basketball training for children and adolescents at the Sportpark am Schanzl. Led by trainers from Knights Amberg-Sulzbach, this initiative is part of a Bavarian state program designed to provide accessible, low-barrier athletic opportunities for those who may not be members of traditional sports clubs.
