Local sports updates in Leiden and Den Haag

In Leiden, the women's third football team of the Leidse Studenten Voetbal Vereniging secured a dominant 9-1 victory against REMO VR2. Despite having played fewer matches than their opponents due to team withdrawals in the league, the Leiden side established a 7-0 lead in the first half. Although the second half saw a slower tempo and a penalty conceded, the team maintained control to secure the win.

In Den Haag, the HDM women's hockey club is working to find stability following a difficult start to the season in the highest Dutch class. The team has integrated twelve new players, including former Groningen top scorer Isa Bosgraaf. Coach Diederik van Weel is focusing on balancing team focus with cohesion to address current challenges, specifically a lack of scoring efficiency, in hopes of a seasonal turnaround.
