Local storytelling and theater initiatives launch in the Netherlands

Local cultural initiatives are bringing community stories to life in the Netherlands. In Vlierden, a theatrical production titled ‘Het Verhaal van Vlierden’ will take place on November 20 and 21 at MFA ’t Huis. The performance explores a century of village life, blending historical events with fictionalized elements, music, and humor to commemorate the centenary of the village's independence.

Meanwhile, in the Bronckhorst municipality, Amphion Cultuurbedrijf is launching a new series of storytelling workshops through Vonk Verhalenlab. Starting October 28, the program seeks residents to participate as storytellers or story carriers. Participants will undergo training to learn how to present personal memories or unique experiences, culminating in a public storytelling café event in late November featuring live music.
