Local summer seasonal transitions in Switzerland and Germany

In Switzerland, the BewegungPlus organization reported on the impact of extreme summer heat on community life. High temperatures and water shortages led to decreased attendance at church services and altered local programming. In response, four different congregations chose to collaborate and pool resources for five weeks, setting aside theological differences to utilize communal synergies.

In the Neuburg region of Germany, local ice cream cafes are preparing to end their summer seasons as autumn temperatures approach. Business owners reported high demand due to the warm weather, though some faced long working hours. Eiscafé da Manuele and Il Pinguino are scheduled to close in mid-October, while Eiscafé San Marco expects to remain open until late October. Il Cantonati, the oldest establishment in the area, will also continue operations through the season.
