Local Japanese restaurants announce closures

Several local dining establishments in Japan have announced upcoming closures.

Genta Sushi at the Aeon Mall Iwaki Onahama store closed its operations on August 31, 2026. The restaurant was known for providing fresh sushi to the local community.

In Utsunomiya City, the popular restaurant Kita no Butadon, located in Mobara-cho, also closed on August 31, 2026. The establishment was recognized for its juicy pork bowls.

In Sakado City, Saitama Prefecture, the izakaya Sakaba Sumikko has announced it will close on December 31, 2026. The venue, which had operated in the Wakaba area for approximately ten years, offered a variety of dishes including charcoal-grilled items and fresh ham.
