Local traditional fairs held in Quilho and Alvito

The 18th edition of the Chestnut and Honey Fair took place in Quilho, Mortágua, attracting hundreds of visitors. Organized by the Association for Social Development of Quilho, the event featured local gastronomy including chestnut soup, honey-based desserts, and traditional pork dishes. The fair showcased regional products such as nuts, hazelnuts, cheeses, wines, and olive oil, alongside musical performances and a traditional Magusto.

In Alvito, the Feira dos Santos e Frutos Secos is scheduled to run from October 30 to November 1. Dating back to 1295, this historic event features approximately 60 exhibitors presenting dried fruits, crafts, and regional specialties. The fair aims to stimulate local commerce and preserve historical traditions. Musical attractions for the event include performances by Miguel Gameiro, Polo Norte, and Os Quatro e Meia.
