Pietro Midaglia, prominent Calabrian political figure, passes away

The Calabrian political community is mourning the death of Pietro Midaglia, a historic figure of the Italian left. A lawyer and professor, Midaglia held significant roles across several political eras, including membership in the Italian Communist Party (PCI), the Democratic Party of the Left (PDS), the Democrats of the Left (DS), and the Democratic Party (PD).

Midaglia served as the mayor of Sangineto and was the first president of the PD provincial assembly in Cosenza. He also served on the board of directors of the Cassa di Risparmio di Calabria e Lucania. Local leaders and political circles, including the Cosenza PD Marica Zuccarelli Circle, have praised him for his political consistency, ethical example, and commitment to social justice and the development of the Mezzogiorno.
