Local urban redesign projects initiated in Erding and Wiesbaden

In Erding, the Freie Wähler party has requested a new city council debate regarding the redesign of Schrannenplatz. While the party supports climate-friendly urban transformations, they have raised concerns about the future of the existing Ährenbrunnen fountain. They cited the fountain's historical and aesthetic importance, as well as potential technical and maintenance issues, referencing previous water feature problems at Friedrich-Fischer-Platz.

In Wiesbaden, the city has launched a public participation process for the comprehensive redesign of the historic Kochbrunnenplatz. The project aims to adapt the area to climate change to ensure it remains a viable meeting place during hot summer days. The city is inviting citizens to provide input digitally through November 22, with in-person workshops scheduled for early December to discuss making the space greener and more livable.
