Local vendors in Argentina and urban planners in Chile initiate regulatory changes

In Argentina, local vendors and entrepreneurs in Sarmiento have submitted a petition to the Chubut Ministry of Education and primary/secondary level supervision. The group is demanding a specific regulatory framework that distinguishes their occasional work from permanent commercial establishments. Their six-point proposal includes guaranteeing the continuity of fairs, allowing the use of public spaces and schools with authorization, and establishing accessible safety and hygiene standards. A community protest was organized at Plaza San Martín to support these demands.

In Chile, the Municipality of Ñuñoa has launched a process to update the Sectional Plan for the Barrio Italia Remodeling Zone. The current regulations, dating from 2016, are being revised to better reflect the area's current needs. The initiative includes a citizen participation phase where residents and merchants can provide input on urban design, architectural characteristics, and environmental balance. The goal is to harmonize local commerce and neighborhood identity with economic and social development.
