Lock Upp Season 2 draws heated backlash over contestant remarks

The Netflix reality series Lock Upp Season 2 has become a flashpoint for controversy. Contestant Madhuri Jain Grover, wife of entrepreneur Ashneer Grover, said on the show that “the more rich people have children, the more wealth will increase; the more poor people have children, the more poverty will increase.” The comment sparked a wave of criticism on social media, with users labeling the view elitist and condemning the suggestion that reproductive rights depend on wealth.

Other moments from the series have also attracted attention. Actor Ram Kapoor was seen pleading for eviction after a task left contestants without food, describing his feeling that he did not belong on the show. Meanwhile, actress Shilpa Shinde jokingly referred to fellow contestants Akanksha Chamola and Pamala Serena as “lesbians,” adding to the show’s ongoing media buzz.

The program, hosted by Farah Khan and Riteish Deshmukh, continues to generate public debate over the personal disclosures made by its participants and the social implications of their statements.
