Lockheed Martin completes acquisition of Ultra Maritime

Lockheed Martin has finalized its acquisition of Ultra Maritime, a move designed to strengthen its anti-submarine warfare capabilities. Ultra Maritime will be integrated into Lockheed Martin’s Rotary and Mission Systems (RMS) business area.

The acquisition adds a variety of undersea technologies to Lockheed Martin’s portfolio, including towed sonar arrays, hull-mounted sonars, sonobuoys, and torpedo defense systems. Additionally, the deal incorporates Ultra Maritime’s expertise in radar, electronic warfare, and autonomous maritime sensing products.

Stephanie C. Hill, president of RMS, stated that the acquisition is a commitment to meeting the growing global demand for undersea warfare capabilities, providing sailors with tools to detect, track, and deter maritime threats.
