Lockheed Martin F-35 fleet surpasses 1 million flight hours

Lockheed Martin has announced that the F-35 Lightning II program has reached two major milestones: the delivery of more than 1,355 aircraft and the achievement of over one million total flight hours globally.

The fleet is currently utilized by 20 countries and 17 different military branches. As of late August, the aircraft had completed over 807,820 sorties and participated in more than 810 deployments. The program has provided specialized training to over 21,680 technicians and 3,560 aviators to support this scale of operations.

Currently, the F-35 operates from 13 ships and 42 land-based facilities. Lockheed Martin projects that by 2030, this infrastructure could expand to include 24 ships and 58 bases. While the United States remains the primary user, key international partners include Norway, Denmark, Australia, Canada, the Netherlands, Italy, and the United Kingdom.
