Lockheed Martin receives $871 million for F-35 support
The U.S. Navy has awarded Lockheed Martin an $871.2 million contract modification to support the F-35 Lightning II fleet. The funding is intended to establish new operational sites by providing essential equipment, including spare parts, specialized tools, and technical personnel training. This expansion aims to increase the number of locations capable of sustaining combat operations and reduce reliance on a limited number of primary facilities.
In separate defense developments, the U.S. Navy awarded JRC Integrated Systems $47.4 million for engineering support related to the SLCM-N nuclear-capable cruise missile program. This work, which includes system integration and flight test engineering, is expected to continue through November 2030.
Additionally, the U.S. Air Force awarded Leidos a contract worth up to $85 million under the VOLARE program. This initiative focuses on developing digital design tools for future aerospace systems, following a similar award to Anduril Industries.
