President Donald Trump, speaking at a Camp David cabinet meeting, said the United States has not agreed to grant Ukraine a license to build Patriot missiles and called the technology “hard to give away,” warning that it could be turned against the United States. The remark reverses an earlier pledge made at a NATO summit in Turkey that Ukraine would receive such a license. The contract is framed as a response to shortages of Patriot interceptors caused by U.S. operations in Iran and to support Ukraine’s defense needs.
