Lockheed Martin wins MDA contract to modernize missile defense simulation

Lockheed Martin has secured a contract with the Missile Defense Agency (MDA) to modernize the agency’s Modeling & Simulation (M&S) Objective Simulation Framework (OSF). This initiative, known as the M&S Vistas Framework, will serve as a virtual testing environment for the United States’ layered homeland missile defense architecture.

Working alongside the MDA’s Directorate of Engineering, Lockheed Martin will develop, evolve, and sustain this digital simulation framework. The program aims to integrate design, implementation, and testing functions within a modernized software environment to improve efficiency and reduce risk. The framework is intended to utilize iterative development, data-driven insights, and ongoing experimentation to deliver real-time, coordinated responses for operators and allies.
