Locomotive Jazz Festival study shows regional impact
A new impact assessment study presented at the Prefecture of Lecce highlights the economic and social value generated by the Locomotive Jazz Festival in the Salento region. The report, authored by Professor Pierluigi Toma from the University of Salento, examines how the festival’s musical events influence local attractiveness and visitor movement.
The study focused on the Tramonti Locomotive events held across several locations, including Soleto, Leverano, Aradeo, Roca/Melendugno, Martano, Castrignano de’ Greci, and Carpignano Salentino. Data indicates that the festival serves as a significant driver for tourism; notably, 83% of non-resident participants identified the festival as the primary reason for their visit to these areas.
