Locri to host Pino Daniele jazz tribute by Bosso and Mazzariello

Jazz musicians Fabrizio Bosso and Julian Oliver Mazzariello will perform ‘Il cielo è pieno di stelle – Omaggio a Pino Daniele’ at the Palazzo della Cultura in Locri on November 1, 2026. The concert serves as the opening event for the Zefiro in Jazz 2026 festival.

The performance aims to reinterpret the musical legacy of the late Neapolitan singer-songwriter Pino Daniele, blending his signature influences of blues, rock, funk, and jazz through trumpet and piano. The repertoire will include significant tracks such as ‘Napule è’, ‘Je so’ pazzo’, ‘Quanno chiove’, ‘Quando’, ‘Allora sì’, and ‘Sicily’.

The tribute project, which originated in 2022 and resulted in a 2024 album released by Warner Music, focuses on musical dialogue and improvisation rather than simple reproduction of the original songs.
