Locride proposes becoming Italian Capital of Archaeology and Historical Tourism

During the third edition of the Dialog Festival, the Locride region launched a proposal to establish itself as a pilot territory for a new national title: ‘Italian Capital of Archaeology and Historical Tourism’. The initiative was presented during the ‘Archaeology, Territory and Future Forum’ held at the Villa Romana di Casignana.

Artistic director Antonio Blandi officially introduced the project, which aims to create a territorial network to promote archaeological heritage. Local officials, including Casignana Mayor Rocco Celentano, emphasized the importance of making historical sites like the Villa Romana accessible to youth and schools to generate economic opportunities and jobs through a shared regional vision.
