Lodolandia ice cream franchise faces fines after sanitary inspections

The Małopolski State Provincial Sanitary Inspectorate has conducted inspections of several Lodolandia franchise locations, managed by Sweet Gallery, following reports regarding production and sales conditions. The investigation, which began in early August after an anonymous tip from a former franchisee, revealed significant sanitary deficiencies.

Laboratory tests of ice cream samples taken from machines in two locations confirmed the presence of Enterobacteriaceae bacteria. In one instance, the bacteria were found in all tested samples. Subsequent inspections of four additional food service establishments in the Krakow district also detected Enterobacteriaceae.

Beyond bacterial contamination, inspectors noted several hygiene violations, including a lack of expiration dates on toppings, insufficient cleanliness of floors and work surfaces, and general sanitary irregularities. As a result, the sanitary inspectorate has issued fines to the responsible franchisees and issued recommendations for improving hygiene and product quality.
