Loes Haverkort stars in Netflix series De Eetclub

Dutch actress Loes Haverkort is starring in the new Netflix series ‘De Eetclub’, based on the novel by Saskia Noort. Haverkort plays the lead character, Karen, a woman who moves from the city to the village of Bergen and joins a group of unconventional friends.

Haverkort noted that she chose not to read previous adaptations of the story to ensure her approach to the character remained fresh. She described the role as an exploration of the tension between the desire to let go of control and the instinct to remain guarded, noting that the character's assertiveness contrasts with her own more reserved personality.

In addition to her acting career, Haverkort is a singer who has participated in programs such as ‘It Takes 2’ and ‘Secret Duets’. She has also recently shared her recovery following surgery for a brain tumor.
