Loewe selects La Residencia de Deià for artist residency program
The luxury brand Loewe has selected La Residencia in Deià, Mallorca, as the site for its artistic residency program. Conducted through the Loewe Foundation, the initiative is linked to the Loewe Foundation Craft Prize.
The program facilitates months of creative work for three international artists, allowing them to engage with the local landscape, culture, and traditions of the Serra de Tramuntana. The residency cycle includes Japanese artist Kaori Juzu, who focused on contemporary goldsmithing; Irish artist Deirdre McLoughlin, who worked with ceramics and sculpture; and South Korean artist Dahye Jeong, a 2022 prize winner.
This collaboration builds upon the hotel’s existing cultural legacy, which includes a collection of over 800 original works, featuring 33 pieces by Joan Miró. The project follows previous residencies established in 2023 in partnership with entities such as Galleria Continua and Artnet.
