Logan O’Connor takes leave following death of father Myles

The Colorado Avalanche have announced that forward Logan O’Connor will take a personal leave of absence following the sudden death of his father, Myles O’Connor, at age 59.

Myles O’Connor was a former professional hockey player who played for the New Jersey Devils and the Mighty Ducks of Anaheim between 1990 and 1994. He also played collegiate hockey at the University of Michigan, where he served as captain. Following his playing career, he operated O’Connors, a multi-generational clothing store in Calgary.

Logan O’Connor, a 2022 Stanley Cup winner, was expected to return to the Avalanche lineup following a preseason lower-body injury but will remain away from the team to be with his family.
