Logista launches 'Getta Giusto' e‑cigarette recycling campaign in Italy

Logista, a European distributor of retail products and services, has launched the "Getta Giusto" campaign to encourage the proper disposal of used electronic cigarettes, both refillable and disposable, as well as tobacco heating devices. These products are classified as WEEE (RAEE) and require specific collection and treatment. The campaign, built on consumer‑behavior research, aims to provide simple, accessible drop‑off points through participating tobacco shops across the country.

The initiative is part of the TCOLLECT project under a program agreement with Italy's Ministry of the Environment and Energy Security, the Italian Tobacco Federation and the Centro di Coordinamento RAEE. Since its national rollout in 2024, roughly 90 tonnes of used e‑cigarettes have been collected, recovering more than 13,000 kg of plastic and avoiding an estimated 39,000 tonnes of CO₂ emissions.
