Logistics and mining sectors show growth in Spain and Peru
In Spain, road freight transport experienced a significant uptick in the first quarter of 2026. Between January and March, 433,803,590 tons of goods were moved by road, representing a 3.27% increase compared to the same period in 2025. This growth suggests the Spanish economy has remained relatively resilient despite instability in fuel costs caused by the conflict in Iran that began in late February.
In Peru, DHL Express is expanding its ‘Mining Express’ service to support a surge in mining exports. Peruvian mining exports reached US$49,584 million between January and July 2026, a 55.4% increase over the previous year. To meet this demand, DHL is enhancing its capacity to transport industrial components and equipment weighing up to 3,000 kilograms, with delivery windows of 24 to 48 hours.
