Logistics and transport initiatives advance in Chile and Argentina

In Chile, the Empresa Portuaria Valparaíso (EPV) and the Ruta 68 a la Costa concessionaire held the first transversal meeting focused on mobility and road safety for freight and passenger transport. The initiative aims to coordinate public and private actors, including transport companies, Carabineros de Chile, and fire departments, to prevent incidents and strengthen emergency response protocols along regional routes.

In Argentina, authorities from Reconquista and Goya are exploring the restoration of fluvial transport between the two cities. A working meeting involving provincial officials, the Mercosur Chamber of Commerce, and business representatives from Argentina and Paraguay discussed a proposal to implement a barge service for trucks and tractor-trailers. This service is intended to reduce logistical costs and shorten distances for trade between the Santa Fe and Corrientes provinces.
