Logistics automation advances with new autonomous pallet handling technologies

New developments in logistics automation have been announced by Pudu Robotics and Logic Robotics, targeting different segments of the supply chain.

Pudu Robotics has introduced the MP2000, an AI-native autonomous pallet handler designed for warehouse environments. The robot can lift up to 2,000 kilograms and utilizes 3D LiDAR and depth cameras for navigation and pallet adjustment. It is designed to operate without significant facility modifications and can function in both autonomous and manual modes. While it offers continuous operation capabilities, it faces competition from established manufacturers like Toyota and KION Group.

Logic Robotics has unveiled an intelligent transloading solution aimed at rail-to-road operations. Powered by the Logic Digital Twin Operating System, the system uses autonomous pallets to transfer goods between railcars and trucks. The technology utilizes real-time digital twin visualization to monitor inventory, weight distribution, and task progress, aiming to reduce the inefficiencies and safety risks associated with manual forklift-based processes.
