Logistics companies adopt new vehicle technologies in Portugal and Brazil

Logistics companies in Portugal and Brazil are implementing new technologies to improve fleet efficiency and sustainability.

In Portugal, Sociedade Comercial C. Santos has delivered four Mercedes-Benz Actros L ProCabin trucks to the TKW group. These vehicles feature 13-liter engines with 450 hp and a redesigned aerodynamic cabin intended to reduce fuel consumption by up to 3%. The units are split between TKW Cargo and TKW Logistics to support international transport across Europe.

In Brazil, the German multinational Henkel has introduced three biomethane-powered heavy trucks for cargo transport in the state of São Paulo. The vehicles are fueled at the company’s Jundiaí plant, which has utilized biomethane for industrial operations since April 2025. These trucks have an autonomy of up to 600 kilometers and are part of a broader strategy that includes electric vehicles for local deliveries.
