Logistics companies expand Dutch warehouse footprint with new construction projects
Logistics companies ID Logistics and CTS GROUP have commenced construction on new large-scale distribution facilities in the Netherlands.
ID Logistics, in partnership with Heembouw, has broken ground on a new logistics campus at the Medel business park in Tiel. The facility will span approximately 53,000 square meters, including warehouse, mezzanine, and office space. Scheduled for completion in October 2027, the campus is designed to meet BREEAM Excellent standards and will operate fully off-grid by connecting to a collective energy hub. The site’s location near the A15 and A2 motorways and a container terminal on the Amsterdam-Rhine Canal provides strategic access to both road and inland shipping.
In Hoofddorp, CTS GROUP has started building ‘The Double’ at Schiphol Trade Park. This project is notable for combining cross-docking, warehousing, and e-fulfillment within a single multi-level structure to maximize limited land availability in the Schiphol region. The 45,000-square-meter facility will feature 63 dock doors and increase pallet capacity to 22,000. The site will also house an expanded AutoStore system with a capacity of 40,000 bins.
