Logistics firms expand AI and warehouse capabilities through new tech and acquisitions
The logistics technology sector is seeing significant advancements through new product launches and acquisitions. Johanson Transportation Service (JTS) has released arriviture 2.0, a Transportation Management System (TMS) featuring arrivitureIQ. This new version utilizes AI-powered reporting and analytics to provide predictive analysis, trend identification, and cost-saving recommendations for shippers. Key features include Shiplify integration, a freight class calculator, and API connectivity to DAT RateView to assist with marketplace rate data.
In a separate move, Descartes Systems Group has announced the acquisition of Extensiv, a provider of warehouse management and fulfillment solutions. The acquisition is intended to bolster Descartes' warehouse and inventory management capabilities, specifically targeting the third-party logistics (3PL) and ecommerce fulfillment markets. By integrating Extensiv, Descartes aims to provide more comprehensive omnichannel fulfillment data and AI-enabled insights to its global logistics network.
