Logistics infrastructure projects launched in Marsciano and Milan

New logistics infrastructure projects have been launched in Italy. In Marsciano, the first stone has been laid for a new Unicomm Emisfero logistics hub. The facility, built by Generale Prefabbricati for Grandi Magazzini Fioroni (Gmf), will cover approximately 35,000 square meters within a larger 115,000 square meter area. Expected to be completed by late 2027, the site is projected to initially employ around 150 people, with some staff transferring from existing centers in Bastia Umbra and Ponte San Giovanni.

The Marsciano project includes infrastructure improvements such as a new roundabout, a green park, a cycle path, and upgrades to the SP375/E45 junction. Environmental features include 2 MW of photovoltaic energy and water management systems.

In Milan, Prologis has announced plans to develop the Milano DC5 urban logistics hub within Italy’s largest wholesale food market. Scheduled for completion by the end of 2026, the 11,800 square meter temperature-controlled facility will serve food sector operators and last-mile distributors. The project, situated on land managed by Sogemi, focuses on urban regeneration and high energy efficiency without consuming new land.
